Putin Congratulates Russians on Unification Day, Hails Referendums as Fair

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the first session of the ninth Duma on Wednesday. He congratulated the citizens of Russia on the day marking the reunification of new regions with the country, characterizing this day as a symbol of the just struggle of the Russian people and the residents of Donbas and Novorossiya for freedom.

The Russian President stated that the residents of these new regions participated in the referendum for their reunification with Russian territory under extremely difficult conditions. He emphasized that the referendum was conducted entirely in accordance with international law.

Vladimir Putin also extended his congratulations to the newly elected Duma representatives on their victory in the latest parliamentary elections.
