Iraq Affirms Continued Security Cooperation Post-Coalition Mission

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that the formal conclusion of the international coalition’s mission in the country does not mean Baghdad will end its cooperation with friendly nations. Security collaborations will continue to be based on shared interests and mutual respect for national sovereignty.
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry added that the end of the international coalition’s mission marks the beginning of a new phase for Iraq, in which Baghdad will assume responsibility for its own security and stability.
According to the statement, security cooperation with friendly countries will continue in areas such as training and capacity building, which will contribute to strengthening security and stability and supporting efforts to combat terrorism.
Al-Zaidi Emphasizes the Necessity of a New Phase in Iraq
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi stressed the need to launch a new phase in the country and prevent Iraq from becoming a theater for the conflicts of others.
Al-Zaidi stated, “Let us announce a new era where Iraq transforms from a field of conflict into a homeland that makes its own decisions and defends its land and sovereignty.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister added, “Iraqis have paid a heavy price for their years of patience, and the number of weapons in our country has increased to the point where Iraq has become a stage for others.”
He also expressed gratitude to the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf al-Ashraf for its firm stance in defending Iraq and its people.
