Macron Consults Trump on Global Fuel Price Surge

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron engaged in a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump to address the global energy crisis and the increasing prices of fuel. A source from the Elysée Palace revealed that the discussion focused on the current state of international energy markets.
During the call, President Macron stressed the importance of joint actions to combat the rising cost of fuel. He indicated that France, in conjunction with the International Energy Agency, is actively working to alleviate price pressures and plans to convene a summit of G7 leaders.
Earlier reports from Reuters, citing informed sources, suggested that the United States had requested France and Germany to release quantities of diesel from their strategic reserves. These sources further indicated that the U.S. had called on the European Union to supply 120 million barrels of diesel to the market over the next six months.
This appeal from the United States to Europe comes as the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency stated on Tuesday that Europe is among the regions most vulnerable to current diesel shortages, potentially even the most susceptible.
