Pakistan Argues Against Transit Fees for Strait of Hormuz

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister stated that no fees should be levied for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that new requests for joining the Mecca Pact will not be decided until the pact is fully implemented.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister has asserted that transit fees should not be imposed for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. This statement comes as the nation awaits the complete implementation of the Mecca Pact before considering new applications for membership.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted that the Strategic Political Defense Committee is scheduled to convene in Riyadh soon, operating under the framework of the Mecca Pact. He further commented on the matter of passage fees for the Strait of Hormuz, stating that such charges should not be applied.
