Egyptian Officials and Media React to Israeli Finance Minister’s Sinai Threat

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Following recent threats by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich against Egypt, which suggested the destruction of the Sinai Peninsula if Cairo were to attack Tel Aviv, a number of Egyptian representatives, media figures, and prominent personalities have voiced strong reactions. These influential voices emphasized that in the event of a conflict, the entity known as “Israel” would cease to exist.
Smotrich’s provocative remarks were made concurrently with the commemoration of the 1973 October War anniversary in Egypt. He stated that if Egypt were to launch an attack against the Israeli regime, nothing would remain of the Sinai Peninsula. This aggressive posturing has ignited widespread condemnation within Egypt.
Earlier, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi had unequivocally asserted that Egypt would not relinquish any part of its territory and that the Egyptian armed forces were prepared to defend the nation. President el-Sisi’s statement underscores Egypt’s unwavering commitment to its territorial integrity and national security in the face of escalating regional challenges.
