Explosions Heard in Riyadh, Saudi Drone Downed Over Yemen

Several explosions were reported in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, amidst a separate incident where a Saudi reconnaissance drone was shot down over the Al Jawf province in Yemen. Aviation traffic monitoring sites also indicated a halt in flights at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, multiple explosions were heard in Riyadh without prior warning, according to data published by Mehr News Agency, quoting Yemen’s Al Masirah network. Concurrently, aviation traffic monitoring sources reported a cessation of flight activities at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Further details regarding the cause or origin of these explosions have not yet been released.

In related news, the spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces announced that a Saudi armed reconnaissance drone of the “CH-4” type was shot down in the skies of Al Jawf province.

The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces stated that a “CH-4” type armed reconnaissance drone belonging to Saudi Arabia was downed while conducting hostile missions in the skies over Yemen’s Al Jawf province.

Meanwhile, aviation traffic monitoring websites reported that flight activities at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh have been suspended for the third time, amidst ongoing disruptions to air traffic.

Saudi officials have not yet responded to reports concerning the airport closures and the drone downing.
