UK Warns Citizens Against Saudi Arabian Airports Amid Security Concerns

The UK Foreign Ministry has issued a security advisory urging its citizens to exercise caution when traveling to Jeddah, Dammam, and all Saudi Arabian airports, excluding Medina’s Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the UK Foreign Ministry has released a statement advising its citizens to be vigilant regarding travel to the cities of Jeddah and Dammam, and all airports in Saudi Arabia, with the exception of Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah. The ministry emphasized that travel to these locations should only be undertaken if absolutely essential. British nationals are also still advised to avoid King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Similar travel advisories had previously been issued by other nations, including South Korea, France, Germany, and Canada. The Financial Times reported yesterday that senior executives from major global oil companies such as ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, Shell, and BP had canceled their planned attendance at the Riyadh Energy Conference due to security concerns and disruptions to Saudi Arabian flights.

The disruptions followed an attack by Yemeni armed forces on Riyadh’s airport, which necessitated flight rerouting for dozens of aircraft and led to the cancellation of over a thousand flights. Reports indicate that Saudi officials have ordered the closure of several airports in the country in response to the escalating attacks.
