South Korea Urges Citizens to Exit Saudi Arabia Amid Security Concerns

Seoul has advised its citizens to leave Saudi Arabia and postpone or cancel travel plans due to heightened security concerns, following missile attacks on Riyadh’s international airport.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, South Korea‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recommended its citizens depart Saudi Arabia and has urged them to postpone or cancel planned trips to the Kingdom amidst escalating security worries. This advisory comes in the wake of escalating regional tensions.

The decision by South Korea follows multiple missile strikes by the Yemeni army and armed forces targeting Riyadh International Airport in recent days. These attacks, reportedly in response to Saudi Arabia’s actions in Yemen, have resulted in casualties. The Yemeni armed forces’ engagement with the airport has significantly disrupted air travel, forcing airlines to reroute dozens of flights and leading to the cancellation of over a thousand scheduled services.

The implications of these security developments are being felt across international aviation. France, Canada, and Germany have issued warnings to their respective airlines regarding the risks associated with flying over Saudi Arabia and significant portions of its airspace. These advisories underscore the serious security implications stemming from the ongoing conflict and its impact on civilian infrastructure and international transit.
