Norway Pledges $8 Billion Aid Package to Ukraine for 2027

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Norway is preparing to allocate approximately 8 billion euros in financial assistance to Ukraine in 2027, with about 70 percent designated for defense and military purposes. This pledge was revealed by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at the Warsaw Security Forum.
Støre also urged China, India, Brazil, and South Africa to leverage their influence with Moscow to encourage Russia towards negotiations with Ukraine. He emphasized the critical need to supply interceptor missiles to bolster Ukraine’s air defense capabilities and stressed the importance of meeting the country’s financial needs through the International Monetary Fund and other financial institutions.
The Norwegian Prime Minister called for increased participation from other European countries in supporting Ukraine, stating that Europe must begin planning for security arrangements post-conflict. Previously, the Norwegian government had announced in August 2026 its intention to maintain its aid to Ukraine at 85 billion Norwegian kroner in 2027. Official government statements indicated that the majority of this budget would be allocated to military support, although the final breakdown between military and civilian aid had not yet been finalized.
