US Military Facing Strategic Stalemate Due to Arms Depletion, Asia Times Reports

US military strategy in Iran has exposed deep fissures and led to a significant depletion of arms reserves, weakening its deterrence capabilities and international credibility, according to an analysis by Asia Times.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the news outlet Asia Times has revealed that the American-Zionist warmongering in Iran has highlighted a deep and evident rift in the United States’ war strategy.

The report further states that the consequences of this confrontation and the continuous pressure on arms reserves have weakened America’s deterrence capacity, transforming Washington into a less capable and less reliable ally on the international stage.

According to the report, a shortage of interceptor missiles has compelled US military commanders to make difficult battlefield decisions. These decisions have included foregoing the use of interceptor systems in certain attacks to conserve limited reserves of the country’s defensive systems and interceptor missiles.

Asia Times pointed to recent contracts by the US Department of War (Pentagon) that reflect the extent of the challenge and the severe attrition of the country’s arms arsenals. In recent days, the Pentagon announced a $24.4 billion contract with Raytheon to accelerate the production of SM-6 missiles. This comes after an earlier contract worth $20.7 billion for AMRAAM missiles and a major $58.6 billion deal for Patriot missiles with Lockheed Martin.

The outlet noted that the overall goal of these large contracts is to replenish reserves depleted by conflict. Asia Times emphasized, however, that signing these contracts does not in any way signify the immediate return of expended missiles to military arsenals, as the production and supply of weaponry require considerable time.

The report concluded by stressing that a strategic retreat and the increasing depletion of air defense reserves have placed US command in a genuine stalemate, directly impacting Washington’s military commitments to its allies in the region and around the world.
