EU Postpones Joint Summit with Persian Gulf Nations Amid Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the European Union announced on Thursday the postponement of the summit with Persian Gulf nations, which was slated to take place on October 24 in Saudi Arabia. The European Union did not provide further details regarding the reasons for this postponement, stating only that a new date would be announced “at an appropriate time.” This delay represents another setback for Saudi Arabia’s efforts to host global events, particularly amidst the intensification of the conflict against Yemen. Meanwhile, the General Secretariat of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council confirmed the rescheduling of the GCC-EU Leaders’ Summit, which was previously set for October 24, 2026, in Riyadh. The GCC General Secretariat added that the new date will be determined later based on mutual agreement between the Persian Gulf and European parties.
