Israeli Forces Advance into Syrian Countryside Near Quneitra

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Syrian news outlet Al-Akhbariya reported on new movements by the Israeli regime in southern Syria. Israeli occupation forces, utilizing five vehicles, advanced towards the village of Abu Madra in the southern Quneitra countryside.
Since the fall of the Bashar al-Assad government in Syria in December 2024, the Israeli regime has exploited existing security vacuums within the country. This has included bombing heavy defense installations and warplanes in the southern Quneitra region. The Israeli regime has also occupied parts of southern Syria, including the strategic heights of Mount Hermon.
Following Quneitra province, Daraa province ranks second with 32 sovereignty violations. However, incursions in Daraa have been more dangerous, involving artillery attacks, ground infiltration, and intensive fighter jet flights. Violations in the Rif Damascus and As-Suwayda regions have primarily consisted of intruding drone flights.
The military movements by the Israeli regime in southern Syria and its presence in the Quneitra countryside are occurring alongside the consolidation of military and armament presence and the creation of new security perimeters along the Golan disengagement lines. Damascus has repeatedly denounced the entry of Israeli forces into Syrian border territory as a violation of the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement and its national sovereignty, warning of the consequences.
