Saudi Arabia Executes Five Citizens on Terrorism Charges

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior has announced the execution of five Saudi citizens from the Eastern Province. The individuals were convicted of terrorism-related charges, as reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP) citing the ministry. Data compiled by AFP from official figures indicates that with these executions, the total number of individuals put to death in Saudi Arabia this year has reached 188.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior claimed that the five executed individuals were involved in “terrorist crimes, including joining a foreign terrorist group, repeatedly firing at security forces, possessing weapons, and providing financial and logistical support for the execution of terrorist operations within Saudi Arabia.”
Since January, Saudi Arabia has carried out 15 executions with charges related to “terrorism,” predominantly in the Shia-populated Eastern Province. This figure compares to 40 executions recorded in 2025.
Saudi officials consistently maintain ambiguity regarding the nature of the crimes committed by individuals sentenced to death in the country, many of whom are reportedly convicted in connection with offenses related to freedom of expression. Authorities typically rely on generalized statements without specifying the exact dates of these alleged crimes.
