Trump’s Approval Ratings Hit Lowest Point of Presidency Amid Economic Concerns

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, new data released by Reuters indicates that American satisfaction with President Donald Trump‘s performance has reached its lowest level across both of his presidential terms. Rising gasoline prices and economic anxieties are cited as significant factors contributing to the decline in support for Trump as the midterm congressional elections on November 3rd approach.
A four-day Reuters/Ipsos poll, which concluded on October 19th, revealed that only 31 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s performance, a one-percentage-point decrease from two weeks prior. The survey also showed that 47 percent of registered voters support Democrats, while 35 percent back Republicans. This 12-percentage-point gap represents the largest disparity between the two parties in the current election cycle and could bolster Democratic chances of regaining control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Discontent over the economic situation and increasing gasoline prices is widespread, with 68 percent of Americans dissatisfied with Trump’s handling of the economy. This figure includes 37 percent of Republicans. In contrast, 40 percent of participants believe Democrats are better suited to manage the economy, compared to 33 percent for Republicans. Support for Democrats is notably stronger among women, with 50 percent endorsing the party and 32 percent supporting Republicans.
The poll was conducted online, involving 1,679 American adults, including 1,279 registered voters. The margin of error for registered voters was reported as 3 percentage points.
