US Defense Secretary Vows to Prevent Iran from Acquiring Nuclear Weapons

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that American forces are prepared to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, emphasizing strong cooperation with Israel to achieve this goal.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth asserted on Tuesday that American forces within the Central Command (CENTCOM) are “determined and steadfast” in their mission to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Speaking to reporters, Hegseth claimed readiness to participate in any necessary actions and highlighted extensive cooperation with the Israeli military to guarantee this objective.

The Defense Secretary of the Trump administration issued these threats despite previous unsuccessful military endeavors against Iran. Hegseth praised the capabilities of the Israeli regime, endorsing its military actions in the region and commending its aggressive stance towards Iran.

When questioned by journalists about extensive civilian casualties during previous U.S. attacks on Iran, Hegseth declined to provide a specific response. He also adopted a belligerent stance, characterizing the production of U.S. military industries as a factor for economic stability and job creation across the United States, and spoke against transferring these capabilities to other nations.

These remarks come as the United States approaches congressional elections. These elections, shadowed by intense tensions with Iran and domestic economic discontent, could shift the balance of power in Washington, focusing on national security concerns and the cost of living.
