Moscow Says Kyiv Ignores US Demands to Halt Strikes on Russian Oil Refineries

Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov stated that Kyiv has repeatedly rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s demands to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries, likely emboldened by European backing.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov announced that United States President Donald Trump has strongly insisted on halting Ukrainian strikes against Russian oil refining infrastructure, yet Kyiv has consistently dismissed these requests.

The senior Russian official emphasized that the ongoing offensive operations by Kyiv against Russian refineries, despite explicit demands from President Trump, demonstrate a clear disregard by Ukraine for Washington’s appeals.

Ushakov further suggested that this persistent defiance from Kyiv may be driven by continued military and political support from European nations.

Previously, the U.S. President expressed frustration over Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s indifference toward repeated calls to pursue peace and cease attacks on Russian energy facilities, as Washington seeks to curb rising global energy prices stemming from the ongoing conflict.
