Former Israeli Military Official Warns Against New Attack on Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Eliezer Marom, the former commander of the Israeli Navy and a researcher at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, stated in an interview with Israeli 103FM radio that any fresh aggression against Iran would fail to produce any meaningful achievements concerning the country’s nuclear file.
The former military figure noted that a new attack on Iran would only be justified if definitive evidence and intelligence suggested the country was on the verge of manufacturing atomic weapons, but emphasized that such an action should not be pursued under current circumstances.
Eliezer Marom further elaborated, “In my view, the detriments of such an attack would outweigh its benefits, and I do not recommend launching a strike at this time.” Emphasizing the paramount importance of the nuclear program for Tehran, the former Israeli military official stated that Iran maintains this sector as a primary strategic card and will never relinquish it.
He also warned that even a limited military aggression led by the United States could provoke a retaliatory response from Iran targeting energy and fuel infrastructures—a scenario that, in his opinion, would lead to a surge in global energy prices and significantly complicate the path toward ending ongoing conflicts.
