The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced on Monday that a commercial vessel was targeted approximately 72 nautical miles east of Ras Al-Khafji, Saudi Arabia. According to available data, the incident occurred while the ship was transiting the southeastern waters of the Persian Gulf, where it sustained impacts from two unknown projectiles.

Despite the attack, British maritime authorities confirmed that all crew members aboard the vessel are safe and accounted for, with no injuries reported thus far. Maritime security agencies continue to monitor the situation closely as investigations into the origin of the projectiles proceed.

Meanwhile, regional security dynamics in the waterway remain sensitive. The Islamic Republic of Iran has previously issued repeated warnings that vessels violating designated transit corridors or entering unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz will face punitive measures. In contrast, United States officials have frequently sought to downplay security incidents in the Persian Gulf, characterizing reports of targeted vessels as fabricated or politically motivated media narratives.
