US Special Envoy Outlines Brussels Talks on Ukraine Security Architecture

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and special envoy of President Donald Trump, stated that the United States engaged in serious and productive negotiations in Brussels today with Ukraine, NATO, and its European allies.
The American official added that the discussions centered on two key pillars: securing reliable guarantees for Ukraine and establishing a more comprehensive security architecture across Europe. He also announced Washington’s plan to host trilateral talks involving the United States, Ukraine, and Russia in Abu Dhabi next week.
In this regard, the senior official emphasized that the Trump administration places peace at the top of its priorities and is actively consulting with all relevant parties to end the conflict and pave the way for a lasting agreement. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump claimed earlier in the day that achieving a major agreement extending beyond Ukraine’s borders is currently on the agenda.
Commenting on the matter, Trump stated that the prospective arrangement might even encompass the whole of Europe, describing it as a potentially grand and significant pact. Efforts and diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the war in Ukraine have persisted since 2022, coinciding with the outbreak of large-scale hostilities between Moscow and Kyiv, although deep-seated disagreements regarding territorial issues and security arrangements have thus far hindered a comprehensive peace accord.
While Kyiv firmly opposes ceding its territory to Moscow and demands robust security guarantees from the West, Russia insists on the recognition of new territorial realities, the limitation of Ukraine’s military capabilities, and the definitive resolution of its stance toward NATO. Kyiv’s insistence on safeguarding its territorial integrity and obtaining firm security guarantees prior to finalizing any agreement remains a central factor exacerbating the deadlock in the negotiation process.
