Strengthening the share of the national currency in relations with Russia

According to the foreign policy group Tasnim news agency, Kazem Jalali, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia, in a conversation with Sputnik news agency regarding the martyrdom of the Iranian president and his companions in the helicopter crash, said: Of course, the martyrdom of our president, our foreign minister and their accompanying delegation was a great loss for our country, which I hope is The damage can be compensated.

Iran’s ambassador also stated regarding relations with Russia: We have a serious decision to expand our relations with Russia. This is a strategic decision that has been taken inside Iran and it is naturally strengthened by Iran’s presence in organizations such as BRICS and Shanghai. Previously, they tried to even create competition between Iran and Russia in the field of energy and say that Iran and Russia cannot have permanent and stable relations, because they are also competitors in the field of energy. But today we prove that it is not. This competition can be turned into friendship and practically work on a single front.

He added: We have markets that are our common markets. It seems that now a better atmosphere has been created inside BRICS, especially with both new and old members, and our relations with BRICS members, especially with Russia, will expand.

Jalali said about the BRICS women entrepreneurs conference and the current role of women in the economy of different countries, especially Iran: It was a very good thing that Russia did this week and practically a large gathering of BRICS women activists and entrepreneurs gathered. For this reason, it is important that these women can discuss and consult with each other and share their experiences with each other.

The Iranian ambassador continued: “How much do we currently have?” We have women scientists in the monetary field, in the banking field, in the economic and business field. Why not use these and why not give them a chance, and by the way, BRICS can share many of the strategies and use the different opinions of women in our own societies.

He added: Women in Iran are fully present in the fields of treatment, medicine, etc. They are being encouraged in the field of business and entrepreneurship, and actually we now have many successful women who even participated in the Moscow conference. 

In the continuation of this interview, Jalali said about the share of the national currency in foreign trade between Iran and Russia: The share of the national currency is strengthening day by day. One of the respected Russian officials somewhere said 90%, but I think that ruble and rial share more than 70% in the trade between the two countries, but we must increase this share.

He added: You know that the joint monetary and banking working group of the two countries has been working on this issue for a long time. We have achieved good results. We were able to connect the internal messengers of the two countries. Therefore, we no longer need Swift. On the other hand, we are trying to connect the “Mir” and “Shatab” cards to each other so that both tourists and commuters can use the cards of the two countries.
