Turkish army officer was killed in northern Iraq

The Ministry of Defense of Turkey announced the death of an army officer in the northern regions of Iraq.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, citing Sputnik, the Ministry of Defense of Turkey issued a statement announcing that an army officer of this country was killed in armed clashes with elements of the terrorist organization (PKK) in the “Gara” region. He was killed in the north of Gharak.

The statement of the Turkish Ministry of Defense states that “a Turkish officer with the rank of 1st lieutenant was involved in clashes between Turkish soldiers and members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) during He was killed during the search operation in the Gara region in northern Iraq.”

The Ministry of Defense of Turkey also added that “in these operations and conflicts, a large number of elements of this organization, including its leaders, were neutralized.”
