Basil: We do not want war, but we do not accept humiliation before Israel

report Mehr News Agency quoted Al-Mayadin, Gebran Bassil, head of the Christian party of the Free National Movement of Lebanon, emphasized that the Shebaa Heights is an occupied area and belongs to Lebanon.

He stated: Israel must adhere to the ceasefire agreement and Resolution 1701. Is it true that Lebanon’s sovereignty is undermined and Israel continues its aggression?

Basil said: Lebanon’s sovereignty must be defended. We don’t want to go to war again, but we don’t accept humiliation and violation of our country’s sovereignty either.

He added: We wish peace and freedom for Syria and we hope that the developments in this country will positively affect Lebanon.

Basil added: We should not give gifts to the new regime in Syria, but our duty is to get our rights.
