Ukraine Calls on Russia for 30-Day Ceasefire
Ukraine Demands Russia Halt attacks on Civilian Targets for 30 Days
according to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, Ukraine on Saturday called on Russia to cease its attacks on civilian infrastructure for a period of 30 days. This request comes ahead of the upcoming Global Peace Summit scheduled for next month.
Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated that Kyiv hopes Russia will agree to this proposal. He added,”We expect all countries that desire peace to support this appeal.”
Yermak further emphasized that halting attacks on civilians could serve as a sign of Russia’s seriousness about resolving the conflict peacefully.
However, Moscow has yet to issue an official response to this demand.
The Peace summit, set to take place in Switzerland in June, aims to establish a framework for ending the war that began in February 2022 and has as claimed thousands of lives and displaced millions.
