lebanon’s Druze Leader Reacts to Damascus Countryside Developments: “Hidden Hands Seek to Escalate Conflict”
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Al-Nashra, Sheikh Sami Abou al-Mana, the leader of Lebanon’s Druze community, responded to recent developments and clashes in the suburbs of Damascus, stating: “What is happening in Syria is a seditious plot. Damascus must uphold the rights of all its people.”
He added: “We condemn insults against the Prophet Muhammad and these provocative schemes. Hidden hands are seeking to escalate tensions. We demand control over the situation. Seditious plots orchestrated by Israel are being implemented. We reject separatist agendas targeting Syria’s Arab and Islamic identity.”
walid Jumblatt, head of lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Party, also stated in his latest remarks: “We call for calm and dialog. Syrian authorities must conduct a obvious examination into the Jaramana incidents. We are prepared to visit Syria and oppose Israeli interference in this country.Israel aims to exploit Druze communities to incite strife in Syria.”
Jumblatt further emphasized: “We support a united Syria, while Israel seeks to displace Druze populations for its own exploitation.”
