Russian Foreign Ministry Announces Consultations Between russian and Indian Foreign Ministers on Islamabad-Delhi Tensions
the Russian foreign Ministry issued a statement announcing that its foreign minister held discussions wiht his Indian counterpart regarding tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi.
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement on Saturday confirming the consultation between the two diplomats.
The statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry noted: Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, spoke with India’s external affairs minister today concerning the deterioration of relations between India and Pakistan.The ministry added that during the phone consultation, Lavrov called for resolving tensions in Indo-Pakistani relations.
Following an attack on April 22 at the Pahalgam tourist resort in India-administered Kashmir, 26 people—mostly tourists—were killed. India has blamed its neighboring country for the attack, but Islamabad has denied any involvement in the incident.
However, Pakistan has proposed an impartial investigation supervised by a third party into aspects of this event.
