Head of Gaza Field Hospitals Describes Health Situation as Catastrophic
The director of field and mobile hospitals in Gaza has described the health conditions in the strip as extremely dire.
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Shehab News Agency, Marwan Al-Hams, the head of gaza’s field hospitals, stated today that Gaza’s medical facilities are overwhelmed with wounded patients and lack even the most basic supplies.
He emphasized that medicines and medical equipment are unavailable in these hospitals, with devices frequently breaking down due to the blockade on Gaza and the closure of crossings, preventing repair efforts by medical teams.
Al-Hams said: “A large number of martyrs and wounded arrive daily at these hospitals due to ongoing atrocities, leaving medical staff and hospital administrators struggling with space shortages and inadequate resources.”
The director added: “The occupying regime uses bombs, missiles, and suicide drones—resulting in victims being burned or dismembered.” He noted that burns from such attacks cover 90–100% of victims’ bodies, making treatment extremely challenging for healthcare workers.
Stressing that most casualties are women,children,and elderly individuals,he declared: “There is no safe zone in Gaza.”
The Palestinian official continued: ”For 62 days now, no medicine, water, or food has entered Gaza—including public or field hospitals—and 43% of patients die due to lack of treatment or medication.” He highlighted that 80,000 diabetes patients, 110,000 hypertension cases (high blood pressure), along with thousands suffering from cancer remain untreated.
Al-Hams warned that malnutrition cases brought to hospitals perish from drug shortages: “We demand an end to this war genocide reopening crossings for food water fuel electricity enter immediately.”
