Saudi condition for participating in Arab summit in Baghdad

Member ⁣of Iraqi Political Coalition Reveals Saudi Arabia’s Condition for Attending Arab Summit in Baghdad

According ⁢to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing‌ Mehr News Agency and Almaalomah, Mohammad Al-Dulaimi, a‌ member of the Anbar ⁤ coalition, stated that Saudi Arabia has set a precondition for its participation—along with other Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members—in the Arab leaders’ summit in Baghdad: an invitation⁤ must ‌be extended to Abu Mohammad ‌al-Julani, the leader of terrorist groups controlling parts of Syria. ⁤

He added that this Saudi demand reflects a broader regional plan backed by certain Arab states in the Persian Gulf, ⁢with tacit U.S. support, aimed at redesigning‍ Iraq’s security landscape.

Al-Dulaimi further noted that many Iraqi parliament members have urged the government to limit⁤ Syria’s representation to its ambassador ⁢in Baghdad and refrain from inviting al-Julani, as he ⁣is currently under judicial prosecution.
