Vitekoff warning about Russia Ukraine negotiations Putin approval is mandatory
According to teh English section of the ”webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News agency and Sputnik, Steve witkoff, the special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump in West Asia, emphasized that no peace agreement regarding the Ukraine war would be possible without the approval of Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Witkoff, in an interview with Breitbart News, stated: “I have spoken with Putin. Without Putin’s approval, there will be no agreement.”
He added that regarding resolving the Ukraine war, he has consulted not only with Moscow and Kyiv but also with national security advisors from Britain, France, Germany, and Italy.
Before russia’s proposal for direct negotiations with Ukraine, Witkoff had said in an interview: “The President (Trump) has given both sides a deadline—if direct talks do not take place promptly—then he believes America should step back from this war. It doesn’t matter what this action means; it simply means no further intervention.”
Regarding Russia-ukraine negotiations, the special envoy noted that key issues include matters related to Russian-controlled territories, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Kyiv’s use of the Dnieper River, and its access to the Black Sea.
