According to the English‍ section of webangah News Agency, citing ‍Mehr ⁤News Agency, the American newspaper The ⁢New York⁢ Times reported—citing unnamed Iranian officials—that Tehran has proposed establishing a joint uranium enrichment project involving⁢ Arab nations.

The British newspaper The Guardian also confirmed the report, stating ⁤that Iran has offered cooperation with the ⁣ UAE and Saudi Arabia on uranium enrichment.

The‌ report notes: “Iran’s goal⁣ in⁣ forming this Middle Eastern consortium for uranium enrichment is to overcome U.S. opposition to its continued enrichment program.” If true, this move could build trust among ⁣Arab states regarding the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.

The Guardian added that the ‍proposal is seen as a way to rally Gulf countries⁢ in support of Iran’s stance that ‌it should retain its enrichment capabilities.

It should be noted that⁣ Iranian officials have neither confirmed ⁢nor denied this report yet.
