Trump’s claim about nuclear offer to Tehran with threatening tone
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Yeni Şafak, Donald Trump, the U.S. President who has consistently addressed Iran in most of his discussions since the start of his second presidential term in January, once again resorted to a carrot-and-stick policy, asserting that Tehran has received an offer.
Upon returning to washington from a golf tour, he told reporters while claiming to have made a nuclear offer to Iran: ”They have an offer on hand—but more importantly, they know they must act quickly; or else something ‘bad’ will happen.”
The news website Axios reported on Thursday, citing a U.S. official and two sources directly familiar with negotiations between Washington and Tehran, that Trump had presented Iran with a “nuclear deal” proposal during the fourth round of indirect talks.
The website claimed this was the first time since talks began between Tehran and Washington that Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy for West asia, had submitted a written proposal to Iranian officials.
Axios further alleged that Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister leading Tehran’s negotiating team, had relayed the mentioned proposal for consultation with senior officials in Tehran.
