Albanian prime ministers strange welcome to Meloni became social media subject video
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and The Economic Times, a video showing Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama’s peculiar welcome of Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Albania’s capital has sparked reactions among social media users.
In the footage, Meloni is seen walking on a red carpet laid out for her after exiting her car, while rama pauses momentarily as he approaches her—then kneels on one knee!
The Hindustan Times, referencing rumors about the alleged relationship between Elon Musk—the American billionaire owner of X (formerly Twitter)—and Meloni, suggested that Rama’s behavior might provoke musk’s jealousy!
The Telegraph justified Rama’s actions toward Meloni by noting Italy’s substantial financial contributions to Albania for hosting refugee camps and it’s support for Tirana’s bid to join the European Union.
Rama previously displayed similar behavior toward Meloni at an event in Abu Dhabi.Last year, he repeated the gesture during a meeting with the Italian Prime Minister at a summit in Azerbaijan.
