Israeli Army Launches Ground Operation in Multiple Gaza Areas
the Israeli military announced in a statement on Sunday that it has begun ground operations in several areas of the Gaza Strip as part of its “Gideon” operation, according to webangah News Agency.
The statement described the military’s actions, claiming: “We have initiated ground operations in certain areas of Gaza. Over the past week,we struck 670 targets in Gaza as part of preparations for this ground offensive.”
Palestinian sources reported heavy artillery bombardment and airstrikes accompanied by advancing Israeli military equipment near al-Fakhari area northeast of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Additional reports indicate intense attacks by Israeli forces on Beit Lahia. Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 14 television network stated that five military brigades are awaiting orders to join the ground operation following cabinet discussions and Doha negotiations.
