Al-Fayyad takes stance on Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces law approval process
Faleh al-Fayyadh, head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), stated that Sinjar in Nineveh Province remains under Iraqi army control, with PMF units playing a supporting role to security forces. The remarks were made in an exclusive report by webangah News Agency.
Al-Fayyadh dismissed reports claiming PMF interference in construction projects across parts of Nineveh as “factually incorrect.”
“The PMF operates within legal frameworks and under government oversight,” emphasized the militia leader during his briefing.
The official confirmed ongoing legislative revisions to the PMF law, predicting finalization within the next month. “There’s broad political consensus on passing these reforms soon,” he noted, describing the amendments as critical for enhancing operational capabilities and institutional restructuring.
