Massive power outage cripples Spanish telecom networks 4 weeks after nationwide blackout

Spain’s telecommunications networks go offline again just four weeks after ‌a massive power outage swept across spain and Portugal.

According to webangah News Agency, Spain has experienced a nationwide telecommunications blackout, disrupting phone and internet services. Teh incident follows ‍a widespread power outage that affected Spain, Portugal, and parts of ⁤France just four weeks ago.

The outage-tracking website DownDetector reported disruptions across multiple Spanish telecom providers, including Movistar, starting at 5 AM local time. Data shows users were unable to make calls, send texts, or access mobile internet.

Major cities ‍like Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, ⁣Seville, ​Málaga, Murcia, and Bilbao reported⁢ widespread outages. users also confirmed complete ​loss of mobile⁣ signal alongside internet failures. ⁤Several emergency lines went down as well—forcing authorities to issue alternative contact numbers.

While ‍the exact cause remains unclear, Bilbao-based newspaper El correo suggested ⁤the disruption might potentially be linked to a telecom network ‍update. Last month’s power outage left nearly 50 million people without electricity‍ across the Iberian ⁢Peninsula and parts of France—halting metro services, crippling traffic signals, ‌and disabling ATMs.
