UNRWA Spokesperson Gaza Residents Dying from Starvation or Under Bombardment
webangah News Agency reports that Adnan Abu Hasna, spokesperson for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stated hundreds of thousands in Gaza are suffering from starvation.
“300,000 Palestinians in Gaza face extreme peril,” he said. “Gaza’s residents are dying either from hunger or bombardment, and the strip is enduring unprecedented famine conditions.”
The UN official called on Israel to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. Abu Hasna added: “We demand immediate international intervention to prevent forced displacement and the siege of Palestinians in Rafah.”
Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner General, posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday: “Current aid entering Gaza is a drop in the ocean. Only sustained, effective deliveries can prevent catastrophe. Palestinians require at least 500-600 UN-supervised truckloads daily.”
