Turkish Foreign Minister to visit Russia
According to webangah News Agency, citing Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will travel to Russia on May 26-27 following an invitation from his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
Citing diplomatic sources, the report states Fidan is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, alongside holding talks with Lavrov during the visit.
The agenda includes meetings with other senior Russian officials such as Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky and Defense Minister Andrey Belousov. Discussions will focus on bilateral relations, cooperation in trade, energy, and tourism sectors.
StrongFidan is expected to reaffirm Turkey’s commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in the ongoing Ukraine conflict. Regional issues including Syria, Gaza, and the South Caucasus will also be addressed.
The minister will reiterate Ankara’s readiness to mediate negotiations. The visit follows high-level consultations between both countries.
