Israel Claims Destruction of Hezbollah Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and War Minister Yisrael Katz claimed in a statement that the Israeli army, under their orders, has destroyed Hezbollah infrastructure in the “Ali al-Taher” heights in southern Lebanon.
The statement alleged that the destruction of these facilities completes what Zionist officials refer to as a “security zone” in southern Lebanon. Netanyahu and Katz also claimed that the infrastructure in this area was established over two decades with funding and planning from Iran.
The Israeli army asserted that the destroyed infrastructure in the Ali al-Taher heights spanned over 2 kilometers. Explosions were carried out in both surface and underground sections after establishing “operational control” over the area.
According to reports from Israel’s Channel 12, over 1100 tons of explosives were utilized to demolish the tunnels in this region.
The “Ali al-Taher” heights are situated near Nabatieh and north of the Litani River. Due to its strategic vantage point overlooking surrounding areas, it is considered a key location in southern Lebanon. These heights have become a focal point of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in recent months, with reports indicating repeated attempts by the Israeli army to advance in the region.
