Lebanon Parliament Speaker Thanks Public for Backing Resistance

On ‌the 25th ​anniversary of ‌southern Lebanon’s liberation from Zionist occupation, the country’s parliament speaker praised the political support of the people ⁢for the resistance movement in recent municipal elections.

webangah ​news Agency reports that Nabih berri,Speaker of Lebanon’s Parliament,honored both the Lebanese resistance ⁤adn public participation in municipal elections during ceremonies ‌marking Liberation Day—the anniversary of southern Lebanon’s freedom from Israeli occupation.

Berri thanked voters for backing the Progress and Loyalty ⁣coalition, stating that citizens who previously proved ⁢their greatness through resistance have now demonstrated their strength in democracy.

He highlighted Lebanon’s‍ 25-year struggle to expel Zionist forces through perseverance, national defense, and sacrifice. ⁤Berri specifically acknowledged martyrs ‍and ‌resistance supporters who‌ countered Israeli aggression, leading to the May​ 25, 2000 liberation of occupied territories—a‍ victory for national sovereignty.

The Speaker concluded by expressing gratitude to southern Lebanese communities for their “unshakable resilience.”

Lebanon’s phased ‍municipal‍ elections began in mid-May. Preliminary results indicate strong victories for candidates from Hezbollah and Amal ⁢Movement under their joint Development and Loyalty alliance across ⁢multiple regions—particularly in southern districts.
