GCC Welcomes Iran-US Talks
According to webangah news Agency,foreign ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states called for an end to the Gaza war during their 164th ministerial meeting. The session was chaired by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, with GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi in attendance.
The ministers stressed the urgent need for intensified global cooperation to halt Israeli regime aggression, ensure unimpeded humanitarian aid access, and facilitate the safe return of displaced Palestinians to their homes.
Thay reiterated their longstanding position supporting the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and occupied palestinian territories in compliance with legitimate international resolutions.
The GCC also welcomed US-Iran negotiations, praising Oman’s role in hosting and facilitating these high-level talks. They emphasized continued diplomatic support for these discussions as crucial for regional and international security stability, expressing hope that the dialog would yield positive outcomes.
Regarding Syria, the council welcomed Damascus’ new government formation while noting former US President donald Trump’s sanctions relief on Syria and Britain’s decision to amend or lift certain restrictions.The GCC underscored support for ongoing efforts to restore Syria’s security, territorial integrity, sovereignty, and stability.
