Palestinian Prisoner Dies in Israeli Custody
The Islamic Resistance movement, Hamas, confirmed in a statement the death of Mohammad Ibrahim Hussein Abu Habel, a 70-year-old detainee from Gaza, in an Israeli prison. According to webangah news Agency,Hamas described this as the latest example of “gradual execution” crimes against Palestinian prisoners, bringing the total number of martyred detainees since Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza began to 71.
Hamas strongly condemned what it called “unprecedented sadistic abuse and systematic torture” by the occupying regime against prisoners.
The movement emphasized that despite extreme pressure, Palestinian detainees remain steadfast in their faith and commitment to resistance until liberation.
Hamas called on international human rights organizations to promptly intervene to protect at-risk prisoners in Israeli jails. The group also urged Palestinians to intensify protests and support activities demonstrating solidarity with detainees.
The death of Abu Habel-one of Gaza’s elderly prisoners-has renewed concerns about deteriorating physical and psychological conditions faced by Palestinian detainees amid Israel’s escalating repressive measures since its war on Gaza began.
