Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo Sign Peace Deal
According to webangah news Agency, Al Jazeera reported that U.S. President Donald Trump met with the foreign ministers of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
the meeting followed the signing of a peace agreement between the two nations.
Trump welcomed the deal, stating: “The time has come to end this conflict.”
Seizing credit during the meeting, he declared: “We are here to celebrate a glorious, long-overdue victory-the signing of this agreement between Rwanda and DR Congo.”
The president added: “this conflict destroyed countless opportunities and claimed many lives. Now is finally the moment to resolve it.”
He emphasized Qatar’s renewed mediation role, saying: “Qatar and the African Union worked tirelessly to coordinate efforts for this breakthrough.”
Trump specifically thanked Qatar for its close collaboration with Washington in facilitating negotiations between Rwanda and DR Congo.
The president warned both nations: “Failure to implement this agreement will bring severe consequences for either party.”
