Gideon Sa’ar: We Will Not Return the Golan Heights
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has reiterated the regime’s position that it will not return Syria’s occupied Golan Heights, according to a report by webangah News Agency.
Sa’ar stated: “In any potential peace agreement with Syria, the occupied Golan Heights will remain part of Israel.”
The minister added that Israel seeks to expand the scope of the abraham Accords and normalize relations across the region. “We want to include new countries like Syria and Lebanon in this circle, while maintaining israel’s fundamental security interests,” he said.
In a previous interview with Israeli network i24News, Sa’ar had emphasized that Israel’s position on the Golan is “non-negotiable.” He suggested that if Syria recognizes Israeli sovereignty over the territory, it could form the basis for an acceptable agreement.
