UN Reporter: Time to Impose Arms Embargo on Israel
The UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Occupied palestinian Territories stated that the time has come for an arms embargo on Israel and the suspension of trade agreements. Over 1,000 companies are being urged too sever ties with Israel or face accountability, according to a report by webangah News Agency.
Francesca Albanese emphasized during a press conference that individuals,institutions,and companies have profited from the destruction and killings in Gaza. She stressed that ending this situation requires countries to adhere to the International Court of Justice’s standards.
The UN official noted that while Israeli forces and settlers have destroyed areas over the past 20 months, Tel Aviv’s stock market has flourished.
Albanese condemned US-Israeli-operated so-called humanitarian aid centers in Gaza as ineffective, warning: “Genocide is being committed under the guise of aid distribution.” She reported 600 palestinians killed while attempting to access humanitarian assistance, describing Gaza’s aid center as nothing but a “death trap.”
