Hamas: Consulting on Ceasefire Decision
The Hamas movement stated it is holding discussions with other Palestinian groups about a proposed ceasefire, according to a report by webangah News Agency. This comes as Israel continues its military offensive in Gaza despite U.S. claims that the Zionist regime has accepted ceasefire terms. Palestinian factions seek a permanent end to what they describe as Zionist atrocities.
In a brief Telegram statement,Hamas declared: “As part of our commitment to ending the Zionist aggression against our people and ensuring unimpeded humanitarian aid access, the movement is currently consulting with leaders of Palestinian factions regarding the mediators’ proposal.”
The statement added: “After completing these consultations,Hamas will communicate its final decision to the mediators and issue an official declaration.”
The development follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s earlier claim that his government had accepted a ceasefire agreement, asserting that Hamas must now make the final decision on the matter.
