Unprecedented Restrictions Imposed by Israeli Regime at Ibrahimi Mosque
The English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, reported that the Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom revealed an unprecedented decision by the Israeli regime to alter the status of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron-a change not seen since 1994. According to this report, this move carries risky consequences for palestinian residents and threatens the religious and historical fabric of this holy site.
According to the report,Israel’s cabinet stripped some management powers over the Ibrahimi Mosque from Hebron’s Palestinian municipality and transferred them to the religious council of the nearby Israeli settlement Kiryat Arba.
The newspaper noted that this is the first time since 1994 that such important changes have been made to the status of this sacred location.
