UNRWA Requires 500 to 600 Aid Trucks Daily
Teh United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated it requires the daily entry of 500 to 600 trucks loaded with essential relief supplies to respond effectively to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The agency expressed hope that authorization will soon be granted for thousands of additional trucks carrying food and medicine currently awaiting clearance in jordan and Egypt.
UNRWA emphasized that reopening all crossings and allowing uninterrupted humanitarian aid is the only way to prevent further famine among Gaza’s residents.
The organization warned that one in every five children in Gaza suffers from malnutrition.
It also reported a rising death toll due to hunger,noting recent reports indicate more children have died from starvation today,bringing the total number of famine victims above 100.
In closing, UNRWA reiterated its urgent call for a ceasefire. It stressed the necessity of a long-term halt to hostilities through an agreement that brings relief to starving civilians and guarantees consistent delivery of vital aid.
