Orbán Calls for Europe to Hold Trump-Putin Style Summit with Russia
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Hungarian prime Minister Viktor Orbán called Tuesday for a summit like the upcoming meeting between U.S. and Russian presidents aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
The Prime Minister noted that before the Trump-Putin summit, the European Union issued a statement setting conditions for holding a meeting from which EU member state leaders were excluded.
Orbán added that Europe shoudl organize a similar meeting with Russia concerning Ukraine.
This comes after former U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that resolving the ukraine crisis would require territorial exchanges between Kyiv and Moscow, with Kyiv relinquishing parts of its land. The European Union has expressed concerns about being sidelined in these discussions and stated that it does not support such territorial swaps as a solution.
