Israeli Officer Present in Gaza War Commits Suicide
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Shehab News Agency, an Israeli reservist officer committed suicide after returning from the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli media had earlier reported discovering the body of this officer in Galilee, located in northern occupied territories.
An internal inquiry by the Israeli military reveals that severe psychological pressure, ongoing fatigue, and shocks experienced during field operations in Gaza substantially contribute to mental health struggles among Israeli soldiers.
The findings also indicate that the protracted war in Gaza and lack of clear objectives for its continuation have weakened soldiers’ morale and increased suicide rates among them.
According to Israeli regime media reports, at least 44 occupying soldiers have taken their own lives due to war-related psychological symptoms since hostilities began against Gaza on October 7, 2023.
The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported that from early 2025 until now, 15 Israeli soldiers have committed suicide; this figure stood at 21 for all of 2024.
