Brussels: Ukraine’s Right to Set Peace Terms Must Be Respected

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing ‌Mehr News‌ Agency and ​al Mayadeen, Antonio Costa, President of⁣ the European Council, said on ‍Sunday that if a‍ ceasefire between Russia and ⁢Ukraine​ is‍ not agreed upon, Europe and ‍the ⁢United⁣ States should increase pressure on Russia.

Costa added that Ukraine’s ‍sovereign ⁤right ⁣to set‌ its own peace conditions must be respected. He welcomed⁣ Washington’s willingness to participate ⁢by providing security guarantees to Ukraine in order to​ prevent any future‍ Russian ⁣aggression.

He further emphasized that ⁢transatlantic unity is currently crucial for achieving lasting peace in​ Ukraine.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced he ‍would meet with Ukrainian ‌President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House tomorrow,monday,to discuss a ‍potential agreement aimed at ending the war between Moscow and Kyiv.
