What Are the Details of Hamas’s Accepted Proposal?

A senior Palestinian source detailed a proposal that Hamas has agreed to.

According to ​the English section of‍ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency, a senior ⁤Palestinian official told Al Mayadeen that Hamas ⁣and​ other Palestinian resistance groups have accepted⁢ a proposal put⁣ forward by Egyptian and Qatari mediators.

The source explained that the proposal includes a 1,000-meter withdrawal from northern and eastern⁣ Gaza Strip areas, excluding Shujaiya and Beit Lahia.

The official added ⁤that the deal would see‌ the release of 10 live‍ Israeli captives in ‍exchange for 140 Palestinian prisoners ​serving life sentences and ⁣60 others imprisoned for terms exceeding 15 years.

The source noted that under this plan, redeployment⁤ maps for northern ‌and eastern‌ Gaza⁢ will be revised. Urgent humanitarian aid ⁤will ​enter Gaza in ⁣significant‍ quantities immediately upon implementation ​of the⁢ ceasefire, coordinated according to ⁤the January 19, 2025 agreement.

This aid will include fuel, water, ⁤electricity, hospital reconstruction materials, bakery supplies, and debris removal⁢ equipment.The United nations and its agencies-as well as the Red Crescent and international organizations operating in⁢ Gaza-will ‍manage reception and distribution​ of these supplies.

The source⁤ further stated that Rafah crossing would open on both sides under this offer.For each ⁢returned ⁢Israeli body,ten Palestinian⁤ bodies will be handed over. The proposal also calls for the‌ release of all child detainees and female ⁤prisoners.

Meanwhile, ‍an Egyptian official​ confirmed that the‌ new ceasefire initiative involves a temporary⁤ two-month suspension of‌ military operations in Gaza. It includes prisoner exchanges with ‌half of Israeli captives⁢ freed. The proposal outlines a path toward reaching a extensive agreement to end the war.
